Who We Are

Professional Fiduciary Administration

Our Story

Strategic Fiduciary Consultants (SFC) is the realization of a shared vision between principals Jason Carter and Lindsay Daniel Livesay. Both attorneys by training and experienced Trust Officers by trade, they built their careers navigating the complex intersection of legal mandates and family dynamics.

For Jason and Lindsay, fiduciary service was never just about technical compliance; it was about the people behind the documents. Throughout their years in the industry—working within major financial institutions and private wealth divisions—they discovered a shared passion for the personal side of trust and estate administration. They bonded over a mutual frustration: seeing families underserved by an industry that often prioritized assets over administration.

They dreamed of building a firm that could offer a different path—one that combined the rigor of a corporate fiduciary with the agility and personal attention of a private consultant. SFC is that dream brought to life.  Click below to read our bios:

Why We Created SFC

The Origin of Strategic Fiduciary Consultants

SFC was born out of a recurring observation. Time and again, we watched families struggle with the same dilemma. A family member—often a spouse or adult child—would be appointed as Trustee or Executor to honor a loved one’s wishes. They accepted the role out of duty, only to find themselves overwhelmed by a maze of compliance requirements, tax filings, and beneficiary demands.

We saw capable people drowning in administrative friction. They didn’t need legal advice on what the document said; they needed operational support on how to do the job.

We realized that the industry was failing these families. They were being asked to perform the job of a corporate trust department from their kitchen tables, without the tools, software, or support staff to succeed. We created SFC to change that dynamic—to provide the support system that private trustees and executors deserve.

Addressing the Gap

How SFC Fills the Void

For decades, the fiduciary market offered only two disparate choices:

  1. The “Do-It-Yourself” Approach: A family member serves alone. This preserves control and keeps costs low, but invites high liability, family friction, and administrative errors.

  2. The Corporate Trustee: The family hires a large bank. This ensures compliance, but often strips the family of control, forces them to move assets to the bank’s platform, and introduces impersonal bureaucracy.

SFC fills the gap between these two options

We pioneered the “Agent for Trustee” and “Agent for Executor” models to offer the best of both worlds. We provide the professional infrastructure, accounting power, and compliance rigor of a corporate trustee, but we do so while keeping the family in the driver’s seat.

  • We do not take custody of assets.

  • We do not replace your investment advisors.

  • We do not take your decision-making authority.

We simply handle the work. By filling this critical gap, we allow families to retain the personal touch of a private fiduciary while benefiting from the structure and efficiency of professional administration.
